It's that time of year again where the weather is HOPEFULLY warmer and picky food is king. This is one of my most popular posts ever. Simple, cheap and delicious so I had to share. It only cost me £2.25 but fed 8 (more with other picky bits) and oh man it's amazing.....
Ingredients:A whole camembert - Don't need to be a cheese snob as baking anyway I got this for £1.40
A large Tiger loaf or other yummy bread - This was 85p
Olive oil
Crushed Garlic - as much as you can handle.
Chopped fresh Rosemary -I may have nicked some from my neighbours garden
Salt and Pepper.
1. Score around the cheese box in the middle of the loaf and pull the crust out....eat quickly while no looks. Essential. Don't take too much of the bread out as the cheese can't be too sunken inside and should sit level with the top.
2. Cut the loaf one way in thick slices and then the other to make diamonds.
3. Mix up some Oil olive, chopped rosemary and garlic. Then drizzle between all the slices and coat with the back of the spoon.
4. Cut the thinnest slice possible off the camembert just so the rind is off. Then nestle it in the middle of the bread and season all over with salt and pepper.
5. Place the loaf on a baking tray and bake 20mins before guests arrive at 200C, make sure the cheese is completely melted though, a few more minutes if not.
6. Serve immediately, ripping chunks of the bread off to dip, I also have crudités and crisps on the side...it will be gone in minutes.
Pwooooarrr!
Perfect for a BBQ, Starter, Party or anything really.
Enjoy.
